How dumb is Poilievre?

I reported last week that Pierre "I got my pension.. yippee" Poilievre, MP, had an ad in a recent local rag touting the Conservative Home Renovation Tax Credit. This came on the heels of the Big Cheque issue that even PM Harpo called wrong.

Now PP has decided that he needs to take his rhetoric directly to home, I guess just in case you do not read the rags. In a letter addressed to my house the smiling "Results for Himself" self-promoter says it again.

This time I will send the document to the Ethics Commissioner.

And it goes on

The Cons just got through the "Big Cheque" scandal misunderstanding with the PM saying that it was one unfortunate incident by one MP.  We now know that it was a coordinated conspiracy effort across the country by the Con caucus.   It was interesting to note that of all the Cons who were part of the scandal effort, the one name that did not pop up was Pierre "pension for life" Poilievre, the champion of First Nations Rights from Nepean Carleton.

I guess that Pierre must have been away when the plot.. nah, it was a plot, plot was hatched.  Not to be outdone by his caucus colleagues, PP waited a couple of weeks and then hatched his own plot in an obscure local news rag.  In the Osgoode Packet this week, PP boasted about the "Conservative Home Renovation Tax Credit of up to $1350".

I have been collecting my receipts for a basement renovation.  I guess I send them to PP to get my $1350 from the Con party... and not from the Government of Canada?

I am glad you made it clear, Pierre.

On June 12, 2009, Nepean Carleton's mighty mouth MP, Pierre Poilievre entered, voluntarily, a scrum outside the House of Commons.  For those who may not be aware, a scrum is one of the few chances that reporters get to ask questions of Cons MPs.  Generally, guys like PP only like media types that have a camera in both hands. and no mouth.

Julie VanDusen, from CBC, was part of the scrum and she asked this seemingly simple question:
"How many jobs have been created through the federal investment in infrastructure."

The answer should have been simple enough.  After all The FinMin had been talking about creating 160,000 jobs just a few minutes earlier in the Commons.

“Lots of jobs,” Mr. Poilievre said.
“No, but I need a number,” the reporter protested.
“Lots of jobs,” Mr. Poilievre said.
“You've got more than 3,000 - where are you going? I mean if it's a great news…” the reporter said.
“I'm going to the grand opening of a new radio station here in Ottawa,” Mr. Poilievre replied.
“Okay. How many jobs have been created to date?” the reporter asked.
“Lots of jobs. Lots of jobs,” Mr. Poilievre said.
   “Be specific,” the reporter said.
“I'll be specific,” Mr. Poilievre said.
   “Okay,” the reporter said.
“We're building roads, bridges, hockey arenas, other construction projects all of which create jobs. We're lowering taxes so that people can spend and invest in the economy to create even more jobs. So the answer to your question is lots of jobs. Thanks,” Mr. Poilievre said.
“The Prime Minister said 80 percent of the projects are underway. How many jobs? Give me a number,” the reporter said.
“Lots of jobs,” Mr. Poilievre said.
“Give me a number,” the reporter said.
“Lots of jobs,” Mr. Poilievre said.
“That's not an answer,” the reporter protested.

With that, PP walked away to his next photo op.

I will bet you that if you asked PP how many votes he got in the last election, he could tell to the last number.  I bet, if you asked PP how many times he has been named by the Speaker he could tell you, but then he'd tell you that it was the Liberals fault, not his.

So why can't PP answer a simple question on employment numbers?  Is it because he doesn't know?  Is it because he doesn't care?  Is it that he is no more than a stuffed shirt who when he does not have a script, he cannot operate?

I guess we will find in the fall during the next election.

Oh, BooHoo

Did you catch Lisa Raitt making her apology tonight?  "When I was 11, my father died of cancer..." -- and on she sniffed telling us that calling cancer sexy is OK because of deaths in her family due to cancer.

It won't wash, Lisa.  My father died of brain cancer that metastasized from his kidneys.  Does that make it OK for me to boast that cancer is my way to the top in politics?

Why couldn't she just say that it was a mistake?  She made a mistake and was sorry for it.  That would be the honest thing to say.  Why not say it?

The answer to that question is that politicians have turned politics into a war.  It is a take no prisoners battle on the Hill.  We are sounding and acting more like Americans every day.

From Baird's f-off, to Poilievre's tar-baby to Lisa's sexy, politics is a no-holds barred game.  And just in case you think that I am exempting other parties, I am not.  The problem is endemic on the Hill, at Queen's Park and everywhere that two or more politicians and their advisers gather.

Hyper-partisans... be gone!

Poilievre comes dirty

Our esteemed MP in Nepean-Carleton, the inimitable Pierre, the Perfect PP, has shown his true colours on the environment. He is not green... he is nuclear red.

In a recent forum he told a group of residents what they wanted to hear... wind power is dangerous and must be banned. He went further to claim that nuclear is both clean and safe.

Can you say bonehead?

Wind power turbines are environmentally safe. For every one person affected by low frequency vibration or the so-called flicker effect, there are hundred of thousands who benefit from the technology and millions who's health depends on it.

If not alternative fuels like solar or wind, what will be our source of energy in the future. Coal? Nuclear? Tar sands?

Wind farms are not pretty... but would you prefer a nuclear plant three kilometers from your home? There are ways to mitigate the visual effects of wind farms. Ask the folks in Nottingham, UK who twenty years ago fought a farm until it was shown that, given time, the growth of trees in and around their property would obstruct the view of the farms. A natural solution to the issue.

Some experts promote coal-fired generators with stack scrubbers to eliminate the gases and ash. But do you want one in your backyard?

And nuclear?! Come on Pierre. Get real. Nuclear has been around for sixty or so years. We still can't figure out how to dispose of the spent nuclear fuel. Want the rods buried in your back yard?

And what about safe?

According to Greenpeace, "Contrary to the industry´s claim that nuclear facilities are safe, 63 major accidents have occurred at nuclear power plants. Twenty-nine accidents have occurred since the Chernobyl disaster in 1986, and 71 percent of all nuclear accidents, that is, 45 out of 63, occurred in the United States, refuting the notion that severe accidents cannot happen within the country or that they have not happened since Chernobyl."

But don't just look outside Canada, check out what is happening at nearby Chalk River?  Heavy water has been leaking into the Ottawa River on and off for years.

It is time for politicians, such as our local boy, to come clean (so to speak) with residents.

Wise words for Perfect PP

"You were given two ears and only one mouth. You should listen twice as much as you talk." My Grandmother told me this long time passing. Sage words I now pass on to Pierre Poilievre, the mighty mouth MP from Nepean Carleton.

Yesterday Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff, in answering a reporter's question, stated that higher taxes were going to be needed to get Canada back to a balanced budget.

"Dastardly deed," spouted Perfect PP. "Iggy is the Anti-Christ," he continued, spittle flying from between his perfect baby teeth. "Over my cold dead body," he screamed in great pain. "You can't raise taxes during a recession," cried PP, blood pouring from scars on his hands and feet.

Oh, the horror of it all. PP is a saint sent to earth to protect us from life's detritus.

Oops, what's that? PP missed the rest of Ignatieff's answer? What ever did Iggy actually say?

"We will have to raise taxes, but not at the expense of hurting the recovery from this recession." He continued with, "An honest politician cannot exclude a tax hike as an option." He also stated, “I am not going to load a deficit onto your children or mine."

Oops, PP was being a dope! Where does he think the money will come from to balance future budgets. Will he just go and pick it off a tree?  It comes from taxpayers like you and me.

PP must be one of those dishonest politicians to whom Iggy referred.

When the time is right?

The nice part about making predictions without specifying a time frame is that you will always be right - it is just a matter of time?  Even if it never happens - it's just a matter of time.

So it is with the eventual merger of the NDP and Liberals.  Political pundits and columnists have been predicting for 10 years that the Liberals and the NDP will eventually merge.  Now they include the Green Party into that merger.  Will it ever happen?  I am not sure.  But I do know that talks must be held - if not nationally, then at the local level.

Local level talks are the best place for discussions because that is where the rubber hits the road and egos are tempered more than at the national levels.

The federal riding of Nepean Carleton is a good place to start.  In the 2008 elections the best candidate, by far, was Lori Gadzala of the Green Party.  She came third.  Phil Brown of the NDP was fourth but still put on a great show.  Ed Mahfouz was the Liberal candidate,- and his campaign was almost painful. The winner on the night was Perfect PP, a sad excuse for an MP.  Even with a meltdown in the Liberal vote, though, PP's vote share only rose 1% versus 2006.  Voters stayed away from PP in droves and I wager that with a better Liberal candidate, the fight would have been closer.  I wonder what would have been the result if Lori Gadzala had run as a Liberal?  Or maybe as a Green-Liberal-Democratic candidate?  Would she have won?  Would she be in the House right now talking about the environment?

The platform of the Green Party was a very good one.  However, the Greens have been painted, mostly by the Cons and the NDP as a one-issue party - the environment.  It is unfair but true.  On the other hand the NDP is also painted as a one-issue party - their issue is social programs.

The Liberals are painted as soft on crime - tell that to the critics of Trudeau's implementation of the War Measures Act - "Just watch me!"  They opposed the War in Iraq.  They returned the country's budget from deficit to surplus.  They proposed ways to turn around the sickening environment.  They found ways to help the poor, the Aboriginals, the immigrants, the unionists, the hourly workers, the sick, the arts and other ignored segments of our population.

The Liberal party is a natural home for Greens and NDPers.  You can change the name of the party but the core values remain.  And those values are shared by the centre and the left.

While you are mulling over the idea of a merger, think about this also - you could send PP back to school in Alberta, to boot.

It must be a typo!

It was with nervous excitement that I read the Ottawa Citizen and the Globe and Mail this morning. I was looking to see what plum of a cabinet job was given to Nepean-Carleton's own Perfect PP, MP. After all, PP won his riding with the second highest vote tally in the entire country. He was a stalwart Defender of the Faith in the first Con MinGov and a defacto-leader of political jihad against all things not blue. He would at least be Minister of Propaganda.

But no, sorry to say, PP did not make the cut. He was edged out by women and minorities, especially one that was FN from the frozen north. How's that for just deserts? Rejected after giving the best 3 minutes of his young life - how can he hold his head up after being turfed into the Hill's refuse bin by Uncle Stephen?

It not often I feel sympathy for Con politicos but I will make an exception this time for PP. He is a sad little person but at least he has the bar at the Legion to fall forward on.

On the bright side, PP - you are in good company with the likes of Gary "Keene-killer" Lunn, who was demoted to the Minister of State for Running and Jumping.

You have some 'splaining to do, Pierre.

"A secret Treasury Board of Canada decision record, dated May 6, 2008, documenting the acceptance of a proposal concerning "Provincial Meat Slaughter Establishments (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, British Columbia)" which calls for the "elimination of federal delivery of provincial meat inspection programs.","annnounces publicvalues.ca.

"Meat produced in provincially registered facilities in Manitoba would not be inspected by anyone under this plan," says Bob Kingston, President of the Agriculture Union — Public Service Alliance of Canada."

If this is true, and given the history of the secrecy around this government and its lack of caring for Canadians, I figure it probably is, why would the Cons want to kill Canadians?

Are they seeking retribution from those "faux-westerners" who have fought the Cons plan to kill the Canadian Wheat Board?  Are they trying to increase the costs of provincial health care plans by aiding in the increase in the number of patients?  Are they trying to reward their buddies in the food industry for something?  Do they think that federal food inspectors are incompetent or corrupt?

Why, oh, why?

But the real questions are for the Perfect PP, who has been, for two years, the Parliamentary Secretary to the President of the Treasury Board.  Where were you when this decision was being made last May?  Were you out getting coffee for the real bosses or attending the official opening of an envelope?  Or are you just incompetent?

It's time to tell the truth, PP!

Are Canadians so stupid that we can't tell a lie when we hear one.  Obviously in Nepean-Carleton, we are.

We have elected and re-elected one of the great nose-stretchers in all of the stiffs on Parliament Hill... Pinocchio Poilievre.  What did he do this time?

This week I got a mailer from PP with respect to child care.  In it he states that "Dion voted against the $1200 child care benefit and will take it away."  What a bonehead frickin' statement and A LIE to boot!

The truth is that Dion voted against the Conservative plan to replace a $4.8 billion deal on child care, of all ages, that had been negotiated with all the Provinces, with a federal stipend of $1200 that would be paid to parents of kids under six.  The truth is that the Provinces would have used that money to expand the number of junior kindergarten (JK) spaces.  Instead a family in Alberta, of which I am aware, has to spend a fortune (more than the $1200 provided by Cons) on morning day care and afternoon JK for their son because there were not enough available morning JK spaces in their area.  The Provinces could have used the $4.8 billion to create those spaces.

PP claims to have negotiated with the NCC for a $1 per year rent for the Queensway Carleton Hospital.  A LIE!  The truth is that the NCC will be collecting the money from Treasury Board instead - and that largess could be cancelled at anytime by a future (or present) government.

PP claims to have found $35 million for the Strandherd Bridge.  A LIE!  The truth is that money was already earmarked for the bridge as part of a federal contribution to the NS LRT project that was killed by his fellow Con, Screamer Baird.

Bridge over troubling waters

Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Moving thing from from A to B, has announced, during a Montreal area by-election that the feds will build a $1 billion bridge across the St Lawrence River. Bribery, you ask? Pandering, you wonder? NOPE. Just good planning. If the bridge wasn't announced right away then it would delay the 10-15 years project by a few days. Hypocrisy, you muse? Right.

How stupid do politicians think we are? Well, quite frankly, we are that stupid. Cannon knows how to make hay when the sun shines. And we are the cows that eat up that hay.

So $1 billion for a Montreal bridge. There was no mention in Cannon's release about the province or city contributing to the cost. Just the feds - by themselves.

Wouldn't it be nice if the feds could extend that largess to Ottawa, the nations' capital? We have a $4-5 billion LRT/transit plan that is designed to draw us into the 20th century, at minimum, and possible into the 21st. So far the feds have earmarked $200 million for the project. We need a byelection in Ottawa to get that contribution up. I suggest that Pierre Poillievre, the Perfect PP, resign to trigger that by-election. Then Lawrence can dump some needed cash into Ottawa.

PP self-promotes himself into a hole

A local free rag, the Barrhaven Independent, on page 2 of the April 15 edition, has a news story entitled "Olympic Games reflect Canada's achievements". The article is by Pierre Poilievre, the dynamic MP for this area, a man who never misses a chance to shove both his feet into his mouth.

In 1984, Canada won 44 Olympic medals (OK the Russians were not there.). In 1996, we won 22 medals. In 2008... bupkis to date. According to PP's logic, Canada is worse off today than in 1996. Strange coming from a government mouth-piece.... but then again you can't argue with his conclusion.

His arguments are laughable in the article. For example, "Canadians are more unified than it has been in the past forty years", says PP. Forty years ago, and I know that he was not born at that time, Quebec was our major unity problem. Today, add Alberta, BC and Newfoundland to the list. There are even pockets in Ontario who want out. Now that's unity!

Military funding has gone up and the debt has dropped. But are Canadians better off now than 2 years ago? Has homelessness disappeared or child poverty been wiped out? Is there a plan to revitalize the crumbling infrastructure of our cities and towns? Is unemployment a thing of the past? Do the Russians care about our claim to the north? Are the three icebreakers you promised ready for delivery or have you reneged on that promise? Where are the new helicopters you promised? How much money are you investing to control the pine beetle infestation in BC. Are we on the verge of returning to fiscal deficits?

I could go on but what's the use. Politicians do and say what will get then elected and then re-elected. They do not give a hoot about Canadians as a whole. Pander to the influential... that is what it is all about.

It is time to think about voting for independent candidates in the next election. Screw party politics. It is time to strike back at the political parties.

PP doesn't just make little errors

I recently decided to re-listen to Pierre (Perfect PP) Poilievre's little life-exposure on the mighty CFRA radio station with respect to his attitude toward aboriginals. I had a bit of interest in not just what he said but how he said it. This is what the press reports he said, in part: "Now along with this apology comes another $4 billion in compensation for those who partook in the residential schools over those years."

Leaving aside his error in inflating $1.9 billion in compensation to $4 billion, I was focused on his term "partook". You can listen to how he said it at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUxjYAD1vHo&feature=related.

What he actually said was: "Now along with this apology comes another $4 billion in compensation for those who were at...ah... partook in the residential schools over those years." He deliberately changed his wording to include the word partook. Can you say racist?

Now the Hill Times reports that 95% of Nepean Carleton (riding of PP) voters agree with PP. The source of that statistic was the very non-partisan office of PP! I asked the Hill Times to provide their confirmation of the statistics but they declined to comment. In the same article, HT reporter Harris MacLeod also quotes CFRA as saying that 85% of their listeners supported PPs blather. Can I get a list of their poll data? No comment. The truth is that 85% of the brain-dead followers of the bombastic Madley and Green at CFRA would agree, if Madley or Green said so, that the moon was made of green cheese.

Two sides to an agreement

In my June 12 entry, I applauded Harper for the apology over residential schools, while at the same time wondering how sincere he was; considering that his pet-MP, Perfect PP, was given a clean bill of health by Harper when he (PP) should have been hung and quartered over the timing and tone of his comments about First Nations folks.

I also have a lingering doubt about the sincerity of First Nations folks surrounding this apology... this admission of guilt... on behalf of Canadians.

It is said that there are two parties to an apology. One to make it and one to accept it. We certainly had both parties to the apology on the Hill last week. But it also takes two parties to make an agreement work. I wonder if we have two parties.

I refer to the fact that, on one hand, the federal government does not seem to have a plan in mind to move forward from this apology and, on the other hand, some members of the First Nations seem to think that they have a blank check to screw Canadians.

Take, as example of the latter, the issue at Summerville Lake near Campbell's Bay, Ontario. Cottagers in the area have been told that their land is now part of a land claim and that, according to gun-toting natives, they, the cottagers, have to pay road access fees to local natives who run a camp nearby. The law is on the side of the cottagers with respect to road access and the issue of land claims did not even come up until after the natives bought the nearby camp. Before that there was no land claim. In fact the closest reserve to Summerville Lake is over 60 kilometers away. I wonder if the natives feel emboldened to blackmail Canadians because Canadians apologized for a past problem?

The natives are now saying that they are going to claim the entire Pontiac area of Quebec as their native territory and demand that the government pay them a land claims. Sounds like a money grab to me.

Did you know that 117% of BC is claimed by one native group or another? The First Nations can't agree between themselves which group has an historic right to which territory. It sounds a bit like they are throwing copious amounts of feces at the wall, hoping that some of it will stick.

There are some legitimate land claims and some bogus ones. Will Phil Fontaine and the Assembly of First Nations stand up and be counted to move their relationship with Canadians forward by helping to sort these out?

PP does it ever again

Two hours before PM Harper rises in the Commons to issue an solemn apology from all Canadians to "victims" of the Residential Schools fiasco, his Secretary to the President of the Treasury Board, the Perfect PP, Pierre "potty-mouth" Poilievre does it again. This guy is an embarrassment to the whole country... not just to his constituents!

PP goes on radio and wonders out loud if giving $4 billion to First Nations, as part of the apology, is good value-for-money. (Never mind that he cannot even get the amount right!) He then goes on to suggest that First Nations people are lazy, the cause of their own problems and demands an accounting of the $10 billion given to First Nations yearly.

Even if you have some good points, PP, did you not think that blowing off your mouth like this two hours before your Boss rises with an apology, might not be appropriate?

PP made an apology in the Commons today so, according to the PM, everything is hokey-dokey. The First Nations leaders and the opposition called for PP to lose his job in the secretarial pool but Harper will have nothing of it. I guess he needs PP to keep saying stupid things so the no one notices the rest of his government.

Makes you wonder how heart-felt Harper's apology was?

It's perfect to be Perfect

I have started 4 companies, hired, or caused to be hired, about 45 people and sometimes I had to go into debt to do this. According to Mighty-Mouth, the Perfect PP, MP Pierre What's-His-Name, Nepean Carleton's answer to hoof-and-mouth, I cannot be trusted to run Canada because, by having debt, I am too weak to manage my own finances.

Seems that PP has found a new item to work himself into a lather over, in the fact that Liberal Leader Stephane Dion has some lingering debts from his leadership campaign 18 months back. The horror! PP has to get his kicks in before the Elections Canada 24 month deadline for Dion to pay off the debt... just in case Dion does pay them off and PP has nothing to foam at the mouth over.

PP does not represent the people of Nepean Carleton. Most, if not all, of them have mortgages, car loans and/or credit card debt. According to PP this makes them too weak to manage their finances. Let's not ignore the fact that PP, as a Parliamentary Secretary, makes over $170,000 plus expenses, plus housing allowance plus tax free goodies like free train travel, air travel and the clean rarefied air of self-importance. God only know how much his live-in (Not married? The horror!) paramour tops the family income up to. The average family income in Nepean Carleton is less than half of what PP sucks from the public teat.

PP does not represent Mr. and Ms. Nepean Carleton. He should be told so at the next election.

Dr. Perfect PP

So here I am in Vancouver, the home of the crazies and who should I hear a story about but the Perfect PP, Pierre Poilievre, the mighty mouse Con MP for Nepean Carleton. What could PP have said that could possibly get the tongues wagging on the Left Coast? Seems that PP has decided that, in addition to his training as a Con mouth piece and bum boy for many of the lesser-known Con politicos, he is now a qualified mental health doctor.

"I think that if people want this medically unnecessary treatment, they have that right. But taxpayers should not have to pick up the tab for it," spouts Perfect PP. What ever could he be talking about?

PP has his shorts in a knot over the 8 or 10 sex change operations performed in Ontario every year. It doesn't matter to PP that these procedures are deemed necessary by medical and mental health professionals who subject applicants for the procedure to strict evaluation. It also doesn't matter to PP that the total bill for the procedures is in the range of $170,000 per year out of a health care budget of billions of dollars.

PP wants the federal government to withhold medical funding transfers to Ontario until they come up to his standard.

Funny thing is that PP is actually an Alberta transplant to Nepean Carleton but he does not seem to apply his same logic to Alberta which also funds the procedures. It is also a funny thing that he does not attack the Canadian military which agreed to fund this type of procedure a couple of years back.

Can you spell "election pandering"?

I have some news for the Cons

One of the rules of good communications is to be clear with your message. Another is stay on message.

A third is that sometimes taking a hit is less painful than fighting the hit.

OK, I made up the third one. But it fits the current situation of the Cons to a "T".

This In and Out Scandal that has enveloped the fed Cons is more than likely a conflict in regulation interpretation between EC and Cons, but the way that the Cons reacted to it has created the elephant in the room.

Election Canada charges that their audit of 2006 election expenses shows that the Cons federal campaign transferred money to local candidate who had room in their allowed advertising budgets. These local candidates were either shoe-ins or also-rans. The local campaigns then sent back the money to the federal office, usually within a few days and within a few bucks of what was sent to them. The federal campaign then used the money to purchase ads purportedly on behalf of the local candidates. Never mind that the "local" ads purchased by the federals Cons were often not even running in the catch area of the local candidate. If you accept that these were really federal ads, as does Elections Canada, then the federal campaign exceeded its allowable ad budget by $1 million AND 67 local candidates were not entitled to the $700,000 reimbursement from Election Canada for bogus local advertisement.

The federal Cons, on the other hand maintain that they did nothing wrong. They interpret the Election Act differently with respect to advertising. That is the nub of their argument. But rather than saying that they would work something out with Elections Canada; the Cons went into immediate damage control mode, hauled out their communication bigwigs and wrote a new playbook on how to spin the situation.

I got a copy of the playbook, in a brown envelope marked "Contents may damage your brain", left on my door step the other day. The following is the content, verbatim:

Page one of the playbook states: Accept no blame.
Page two states: Demand that all other parties be subject to scrutiny
Page three states: Blame it on Elections Canada
Page four: Blame it on that weinie Dion
Page five: Blame it on Global Warming scientists
Page six: Sue Elections Canada
Page seven: Accept no blame (we cannot mention this enough)
Page eight: Hide the PM in Louisiana and send the rest of the cabinet (especially that Baird guy) to a retreat in an unannounced location.
Page nine: Make sure that the face you put in front of this scandal is disposable, because it is going to destroy his/her credibility.
Page ten: We recommend MP Pierre Poilievre to be the face of the party in this matter.

Poor old Perfect PP. He gave his career for his PM.

"Perfect PP" is back and in fine form

Pierre "Perfect PP" Poilievre, the mighty mouse MP for Nepean Carleton has resurfaced in the news after a long absence. Rumour has it that he went back to his native Alberta to recharge his batteries and to ask his Mama for permission to continue his mission to spew invectives in the East.

Permission was granted so PP flew back to his temporary office on Parliament Hill and got back to work. Earlier this week the RCMP raided the Cons Ottawa HQ, looking for evidence with respect to the 2006 election In and Out financing tactics of the Cons. The press was in attendance, as was a liberal worker with a camera.

Perfect PP went ballistic. "Somebody should ask who in Elections Canada invited the Liberal party to make a home video out of the visit to our headquarters," he said.

I know you are just a young pup with only 5 years toward your gold plated pension so I will let you in on a little secret about political Ottawa. THERE ARE NO SECRETS IN OTTAWA. There are only some people who try to keep secrets. If you want to know how people knew in advance about the raid, just watch the dreaded CBC once in a while, not just those days you star on Don Newman's Politics show. Tear your focus away from the spiritual channel just long enough to know what is really happening around you.

While we are on the case of petty politicians, let's hear what the Minister of Impending Deficits, Jim Flaherty, has to say on this scandalous behaviour. "I do find it odd, when I look at a photograph this morning and I see someone knocking on the door with cameras, with news cameras present." I listened to what Jimmy said and I waited with bated breath for him to blame this on the corporate tax policies of the Ontario government. No mention. I guess that scandal is over... for now.

When you promote yourselves as a squeaky clean government, any bit of dirt will show. PM Harper, Minister Flaherty and Perfect PP... you are all past your best-before date.

Poilievre, The New Screamer, screws up another attack

Pierre Poilievre, the MP for Nepean-Carleton, is getting to be more and more of an embarrassment for Canada and Canadians. He skips in the Commons and cusses like a sailor; but he does it in a tailored suit so that no-one will possibly notice.

He acts like a jack-ass with an IQ of a dung-beetle.

On the day that the Ontario government released its latest budget, the "Perfect PP" travelled to Toronto to be the mouthpiece of Harpers latest slagging of the Ontario government. I guess that "Pretty-boy" Flaherty, the federal Minister of Money, who got the ball started on this slag-fest, decided that maybe he was hurting his image in Ontario (as he tries to wrest the provincial Tory leadership from John Tory) so Harper assigned a disposable Ontario MP, Perfect PP, to carry on the attacks.

So Perfect PP gets to Toronto and offers to be 12 lines above the fold to any journalist he could find.

McGuinty is a dope, Perfect PP yells. Ontario is the last place in Canada anyone would want to invest, he screams. God will smite the non-Conservatives in this province of heathens. He finishes with, That's just my personal opinion, of course.

He then strays a bit from the PMO-prepared script and, boy, is he in trouble now!

In a post-budget press conference McGuinty was asked about the Federal Immigration proposal currently being force-fed in Ottawa. A descendant of Irish famine-era immigrants, his response was that, "...we were [unskilled but] looking for opportunity and we brought with us a solid work ethic."

The door was open for Perfect PP to pounce and he jumped in with all five appendages but... unfortunately his brain was not in sync with his mouth.

"The Premier had no business commenting on immigration," blurts Perfect PP. He went on to describe immigration as an exclusively federal jurisdiction. Guess he didn't fully read his illustrated copy of the Constitution Act of 1867 that states that immigration is a federal responsibility but also states that provinces can set immigration policy. In fact Quebec has a major say in immigration and other provinces are trying to get the same concession from Ottawa.

What was his come-back to this mis-speak... Aahhh, what time does my government jet leave for Ottawa?

Where, you might ask, was the other major CON from Ottawa and why was he not volunteered to go to Toronto instead of the PP? Well, it seems that John "the Screamer" Baird was busy setting up a date to a dog show or something with the PM's missus.
